Better use ‘comments’ instead of email
15/11/2009
When making a query, you may sometimes wish to contact an authority from another State. That authority’s contact information provides a telephone number, an email address, a postal address, etc.
However, you should keep in mind the many advantages of IMI’s ‘comments’ option:
- Security: the information doesn’t leave IMI, where it is entered and ciphered. Not many media can ensure security at an adequate level.
- Translations: IMI’s automatic translation options are available for texts written in the comments section
- Reports: all of the comments appear (dated, in chronological order) in the reports generated by the system, meaning that complete actions can be documented
- Notifications: IMI notifies the arrival of new comments by email, so that you can stay current on any new news.
Comments can be made at any time during the query. They are located ‘at the end’ of the search’s screen presentation, just before the action buttons. Just write the comment in the language of your choice and click on ‘keep comment’. This saves the comment in the search and notifies the other party who can read it, and if needed, answer with another comment.
